How does Eno keep me in the loop about my finances?

If you have a Capital One credit card and are enrolled in online servicing, Eno will reach out to you to help you stay informed about your account when it catches something you might want to know about. Here are a few things Eno looks for:

  • Free trials: If Eno detects that you’ve signed up for a new free trial, Eno will ask whether you want a reminder before the trial period ends. If you say yes, Eno will send you a message the day before the free trial ends. If you want to continue with the service, you can. But if you don’t, you can cancel before you get charged.
  • Duplicate charges: If Eno notices you have two charges for the same amount from the same place on the same day, Eno will reach out to you. That way, if the duplicate charge wasn’t intentional, you’ll know.
  • Generous tips: When Eno identifies a tip that is noticeably more than what you usually tip, Eno will let you know and give you a chance to verify the gratuity amount. 
  • Card declines: Having your credit card declined is never a positive experience. But if it happens, Eno can lend a hand. After spotting the situation, Eno can reach out in real time to let you know why your card was declined and what you can do about it. For instance, perhaps your card was expired or had been locked when you attempted to make a purchase. With help from Eno, you can get back to spending.

How does Eno track spending?

Since Eno watches out for you and your money, you’ll receive notifications if Eno catches transactions that seem out of the ordinary. In particular, Eno can help you monitor:

  • Increases in your in-app purchases: If your monthly expenses within apps such as Google Play or iTunes are higher than normal, Eno can let you know so you can be aware of the situation. 
  • Increases in your recurring charges: When you have recurring charges, such as a monthly water bill or a streaming subscription, Eno can monitor the amount that is spent on these recurring charges. Eno can notify you if a charge appears one month that is substantially higher than the amount paid the previous month. In case you weren’t expecting the increase, Eno lets you know right away so you can contact the merchant to resolve it. 
  • Annual renewals: You might have a subscription or membership that you pay for annually. If you’ve signed up to make that payment automatically, Eno can send you a notice when it finds a subscription or membership that’s been renewed.  
  • Merchant refunds: If you return an item you purchased, the retailer may put credit back on your account. In this situation and for other occasions when you receive a credit on your account, Eno can let you know that the amount has been applied to your balance.

  • Sending fraud alerts: If Eno notices an unusual charge on your account that looks suspicious, you’ll be alerted right away. If the charge is correct, you can verify it, but if not, Eno can help you resolve the issue.  
  • Creating virtual card numbers at checkout: When you shop online, you can choose to have Eno create a virtual card number through the free Eno browser extension. By paying with virtual card numbers from Eno, you can help protect your credit card account from potential fraud by keeping your actual card number to yourself.
  • Answering your questions: Eno is available 24/7 to respond to questions about your account. You can reach out to Eno at any time online, in the Capital One Mobile app or via text. You might ask about recent transactions, check your account balance or change your due date. 

How do I get started with Eno?

Eno is completely free for Capital One customers. If you’re not a Capital One customer, you can check out a list of Capital One credit cards here

Then you’ll be able to interact with Eno in whatever way works best for you: 

  • Email and mobile app notifications: Eno can send you email messages and push notifications to help you stay on top of your finances. Ensure you’re able to receive these notifications by adjusting your contact information in the Capital One Mobile app or online. 
  • Text messages: To receive text notifications from Eno, sign in to your Capital One online account, confirm your consent and start chatting with Eno by sending a text message to 227-898.
  • More-secure online shopping: Eno provides virtual card numbers so you can keep your actual card number to yourself when making purchases online. To get started, install the free Eno browser extension. Then link your card so Eno can create virtual card numbers for you when you check out online.
