Try these troubleshooting tips:

  • Confirm your phone is connected to cellular data or Wi-Fi. You can check your connection in your iOS or Android device settings.
  • Make sure that you have the latest version of the Capital One Mobile app downloaded on your mobile device.
  • Check that notifications are turned on in your iOS or Android settings.
  • Some devices can’t receive voice and data messages at the same time, so it’s possible for the lines to get crossed temporarily. If you’re on the phone, you can connect to Wi-Fi to ensure you receive Mobile App Verification requests—even during a call.
  • Check that your device is registered. In the app, go to Profile, Settings, then Security. From there, select “Mobile App Verification” for iOS or “Manage My Devices” for Android. Select “Forget This Device” and then add it again to reboot your request settings.
