Hertz Gold Plus Rewards offers three membership tiers: Gold, Five Star and President’s Circle. Depending on your card, you could enjoy access to either President’s Circle or Five Star membership. Here’s a closer look at what that means.

Eligible Venture X and Venture X Business cardholders qualify for complimentary President’s Circle status, the top-tier membership. President’s Circle members enjoy more perks to the signature benefits of the Hertz Gold Plus Rewards program, including:

• Ultimate choice over what you drive: Enjoy access to the widest selection of available rental vehicles within the Gold Plus Rewards program. 

• Guaranteed upgrades: Get one complimentary car-class upgrade, with a maximum upgrade to a full-sized vehicle.²

• Dedicated President’s Circle call center line: Reach a dedicated customer service agent for President’s Circle member rental questions.

• Highest rewards level: Earn 1.5 Hertz points for every dollar you spend on Hertz car rentals.³

Eligible Venture, VentureOne, Savor, Quicksilver, Spark 2X Miles and Spark 1.5X Miles Select cardholders qualify for complimentary Five Star status. This second-highest membership tier offers the signature perks of the loyalty program, plus:

• More choice over what you drive: Enjoy access to a wider selection of available rental vehicles. 

• Car-class upgrades: Get complimentary upgrades to the next car class, if available, at participating locations.²

• Enhanced reward level: Earn 1.25 Hertz points for every dollar you spend on Hertz car rentals.³

Accessing your Hertz President’s Circle or Five Star status with Capital One is simple. Be sure to enroll through Capital One. That’s because Hertz.com won’t automatically identify you as eligible for the program, which means you’ll only receive the complimentary upgrade when enrolling through the Capital One website.

Here’s how it works:

1. Sign in to your Capital One account online or through the Capital One Mobile app.

2. Select the Explore rewards and benefits tile.

3. Choose your card account and then follow the prompts.

4. Submit your request and receive your upgraded status in 24-72 hours.

Hertz Gold Plus Rewards membership is available for eligible cardholders, including authorized users and account managers, age 21 and over.⁴

Eligible Capital One cardholders can book Hertz rentals directly through Capital One's travel booking site. And by linking their Hertz loyalty number during booking, they can enjoy all the same Hertz benefits while maximizing their Capital One rewards. 

That’s because Venture X and Venture X Business cardholders can earn 10X rewards miles on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One’s travel booking site. Venture, VentureOne, Spark 2X Miles and Spark 1.5 Miles Select cardholders can earn 5X miles on hotels and rental cars booked through the site. And other eligible cardholders can earn 5% cash back on hotels and rental cars booked through the site.
