Managing your credit card account settings

Learn how to set up and manage your credit card accounts and preferences.

One of the most convenient ways to manage your credit card settings is by using the Capital One app or website.

After you create an online account, you can:

  • Link multiple credit cards

  • Update or recover your username and password

  • Set up alerts

  • Switch to paperless statements

Most customers with an online account have access to Eno—your Capital One virtual assistant—which you can use to service your account and manage your credit card settings.

Linking your card accounts with a single username and password

You can view and manage all of your Capital One accounts by linking them to a single username and password. Any changes to your username or password will apply to all your linked accounts. It won’t combine or change your card accounts in any other way.

Get help signing in

If you forget your username or password, we can help you get back into your account very quickly.

If you continue to get sign-in errors, try clearing your autofill data and enter your username and password manually.

Change username or password
You can also change your username or password quickly and securely in the Capital One app or website. After you change your username or password, we’ll send you an email confirmation.

Setting up alerts and notifications

You can set up account alerts and notifications on the alerts page. For example, you can choose to receive texts or emails letting you know when your statement is ready, when you’re close to your credit limit or when you have a due date coming up.

Fraud alerts can also help keep your card safe and secure by alerting you to suspicious activity.

Switching to paperless statements

Go paperless and view all your statements on our website or mobile app. Doing away with statements received by mail can eliminate the need for shredding. We'll send you a message electronically once they are ready—all you'll need is an email address to enroll.

You can turn paperless statement preferences on or off by navigating to update paperless settings.
