Learn how to request a temporary withdrawal limit increase or manage check or cash deposits using an ATM.
As a Capital One checking customer, you can withdraw cash from 70,000+ fee-free Capital One, MoneyPass® and Allpoint® ATMs—including in select Target®, Walgreens® and CVS® stores.
ATM withdrawal limits:
ATM withdrawal limits vary by the type of Capital One account you have. For example, 360 Checking accounts have an ATM withdrawal limit of $2,000 per day. We recommend reviewing your account details to better understand the withdrawal limits applicable to your account type.
Customers can withdraw cash in various denominations, depending on what is available at a particular ATM (E.g., $1, $5, $20, $100). Smaller denominations may not be available for larger withdrawals.
Additionally, please keep in mind your debit card/ATM cards have a daily debit limit. Total card purchases and withdrawals are limited to $5,000 per day for customers with Capital One bank-issued debit cards on the Discover network.
Please refer to the Terms & Conditions of your account for more information.
Larger ATM withdrawals:
When you need to make a withdrawal that exceeds your account’s daily withdrawal limit, there are a couple of ways you can request the additional funds:
- Request a temporary withdrawal Increase using the Capital One Mobile App
- Visit A branch or Café to request a temporary withdrawal increase
How to request a temporary increase to your ATM withdrawal limit via the Mobile App:
- Sign in to the Capital One app.
- Select the checking account you’d like to request a withdrawal from.
- Select the "view all" option under "I want to".
- Select change ATM withdrawal limit.
- Follow the prompt to receive a one time pin code and enter that number into the app for security verification.
- Enter the amount you’d like to increase your ATM withdrawal limit to. (Please note, account withdrawal limits in the mobile app will vary by customer, and you may need to visit a branch or Café to request your withdrawal increase.) Requests are not guaranteed, but you will receive an instant notification if your request is approved or if the request could not be processed.
How to request a temporary withdrawal limit increase in-person at a Capital One Café:
Visit a Capital One Café and talk to an Ambassador to see if you are eligible to increase your daily withdrawal limit. (Please note, the withdrawal increase is not guaranteed.)
Our Ambassador will start by helping you check in and pulling up your profile. Your Ambassador will call customer service to help request the ATM withdrawal limit. You’ll then speak with the customer service representative for security verification.
When speaking with our customer service representative, you may be prompted to provide a one time passcode (Pin) to the phone agent for additional security verification. Next the agent checks your account details for ATM withdrawal limit increase eligibility. If the request is approved, an Ambassador will direct you to an ATM where you can withdraw the funds.
It may take more than one transaction to withdraw the desired amount.
The increased limit will be turned off at the end of the day for the customer and normal limits will resume.
