To change your debit card PIN through the website:
- Sign in to capitalone.com
- Click on your checking account with the linked debit card
- Click “account services & settings” (if on a mobile browser, click “more”)
- Click “change PIN” from the “manage debit card” section
- Verify your identity
- Enter your new PIN
- Re-enter your new PIN to confirm
- Click “set PIN” to submit
To change your debit card PIN through the mobile app:
- Sign in to the Capital One Mobile app (Text “MOBILE” to 80101 for a link to download)
- Tap on your checking account with the linked debit card
- Tap “view all” below the quick actions on the page
- Scroll down to the “manage debit card” section or use the search bar to find “change PIN”
- Tap “change PIN”
- Verify your identity
- Enter your new PIN
- Re-enter your new PIN to confirm
For your security, avoid using:
- Repeating numbers (ex. 2222)
- Sequential numbers (ex. 4567)
- Previous PINs
