Eligibility
The Refer a Friend Program (“Referral Program”) is open to primary account holders with an open eligible Capital One card in good standing (e.g., not suspended, restricted, delinquent, or otherwise in default) (“Customer” or “Customers”). Customers will not be able to access the Referral Program through the mobile app unless they are using the most up-to-date version of the mobile app.
By sharing the referral link, the Customer will reveal that they have a product with Capital One. For a bonus to be paid, the person referred (“Friend”) must be a new Capital One credit card account holder, apply through the link provided by the Customer and be approved for a card through the Referral Program during the current Referral Program offer period.
Referral Program offers are not available to Capital One call center employees or employees of Capital One Bank branches or Cafés.
Bonus Fulfillment
Referral offers and referral bonuses are non transferable. Eligible Customers are able to refer friends and family to Capital One at any time. However, referral bonus amounts are individual offers which are only available for a limited time.
It may take up to 8 weeks to see a referral bonus reflected in a Customer’s account after a Friend is approved. A bonus will count toward the maximum bonus amount during the calendar year in which the bonus is received and not when the referral is made. In the event the bonus earned from the Referral Program exceeds the maximum allowable bonus in a calendar year, the bonus received may be a partial amount to keep the total bonus for the calendar year from exceeding the maximum allowable bonus amount.
Restrictions
If Customer’s referral offer is no longer valid when the Friend applies for a card, the Customer will not receive a bonus for the approval. If the Friend is a returning account holder, the Customer will not receive a referral bonus. If Customer’s account is upgraded or changed to another Capital One credit card after the referral link is shared or while any referred application or bonus is pending, the Customer will not be eligible for a referral bonus. If any Capital One credit card account belonging to Customer is not in good standing, Customer may not be eligible for the Referral Program.
Additional terms
Capital One reserves the right to alter, change or terminate the Referral Program at any time, and any welcome offer for the Friend may vary.
Capital One reserves the right to disqualify any Customer from participation in the Referral Program in the event of fraud, abuse of program privileges, or violation of the Terms as determined at Capital One’s discretion. Such termination may result in the forfeiture of any accumulated referral bonuses.
Account closure or suspension may result in the loss of any referral bonuses that haven't been applied to a Customer’s account yet. Capital One reserves the right to delay or not enforce any of its rights under the Referral Program without waiving or losing its right to enforce them later.
