Questions?
Check out the FAQs for helpful information and guidance to help you transition to your new debit or ATM card.
Activate your new card and securely dispose of the old one. See FAQs for instructions.
Add your new debit card to recurring payments and subscriptions to avoid interruptions.
After you activate your new card, you’re ready to go.
Once you activate the new card, your current debit card will no longer work. Some recurring payments may go through at first but will soon stop. You'll need to update your card information wherever it's saved to avoid interruption.
If you do not activate the new card, your current card will stop working in the future. If you choose not to activate the new card at this time, see FAQs for details on what to do with it.
Have an ATM card? See the FAQs for more information.
Why is Capital One sending me a new debit or ATM card?
Capital One is switching its debit and ATM card network from Mastercard to Discover.
What is a debit network or ATM network?
A debit network is an electronic payment system that allows for real-time transactions between businesses and customers. For example, debit networks connect a business’s bank with the customer's bank to facilitate the transfer of funds so you can make purchases.
An ATM card network is a computer network that allows ATM cardholders to use their cards at ATMs that are part of the network.
My child has a MONEY Teen Checking account. Will they receive a new debit card too?
They will! Your teen’s card will be shipped to their mailing address on file. Both you and your teen will be notified when it’s time for your teen to receive a new card so you can support them in the transition. Keep in mind, if you have more than one teen with an account, they will each get a new card.
What if I have an ATM card?
Capital One is switching its ATM card network from Mastercard to Discover. You’ll receive a new ATM card on the Discover network with a new 16-digit card number and expiration date, but your PIN will stay the same. Your account won’t change, either.
