Credit Card Payment Posting Times

Information about your credit card payments

For online and phone payments, your minimum payment must be submitted by 12 midnight ET on your due date 4 (unless your due date is the same day as your statement closing date, then must be submitted by 8 p.m. ET) to be considered on time, or you may be charged a late fee 5 .

Payments submitted on Sundays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day will be processed on the next processing day but will be considered on time if submitted by the cutoff time on your due date (see above).

    Your posting date is the day as of when your payment is credited to your account.

    Your statement closing date is the last day in your billing cycle. In some cases, your due date may be on the same day as your statement closing date. On your statement closing date, payments must be made before 8 p.m. ET to post as of the same day. Not every account has a statement closing date. In the absence of a statement closing date, payments made before 12 midnight ET will post as of the same day.

    For payments made between 8 p.m.-11:59 p.m. ET, except on your statement closing date, the payment will post to your account as of the day you submitted the payment. On your statement closing date, the payment will post to your account as of the next processing day.

    Your due date is the date your minimum payment must be submitted by, in order to be considered on time. You can find this information by reviewing your monthly statement, accessing your account online, or calling the number on the back of your card.

    Late fees are typically assessed the next processing day after your due date.


Other information about your payments:
  • You may have up to three pending (not yet processed) payments per credit card at any given time. The payment date you select must be within 90 days of today's date.
     
  • Your payment can't exceed your balance plus 10% or up to $10 million, whichever is less.
     
  • You can generally only make online payments for transactions that have posted to your account, not pending transactions.
     
  • If you are paying your balance in full, your balance includes interest only through your last statement closing date. Your balance may not reflect additional interest charges that have accrued on your account since your last statement closing date.
