Senior Vice President
Head of REIT Corporate Banking
As Head of REIT Commercial Banking, Greg Horstman is accountable for the team’s multi-billion dollar loan portfolio, consisting of unsecured revolving and term loan facilities, mini-perm loans and construction loans. He has more than 20 years of commercial real estate banking and business development experience.
Prior to joining Capital One, Mr. Horstman was Senior Vice President and Team Leader for SunTrust Bank’s REIT Banking Team and before that served as a commercial real estate relationship manager at SunTrust Bank and its predecessor institutions. In these positions, he gained extensive experience structuring debt transactions, conducting financial analyses, evaluating collateral, executing sales strategies and expanding client relationships.
Mr. Horstman is a member of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT) and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). He holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Science in Real Estate from the Johns Hopkins University.
Greg K. Steele
Head of REIT Investment Banking
Greg K. Steele is Managing Director and Head of REIT Investment Banking at Capital One Securities, Inc. He is responsible for Capital One’s overall REIT investment banking business, leveraging Capital One’s large commercial real estate banking platform and extensive client relationships.
Prior to joining Capital One in 2014, he was Managing Director at BMO Capital Markets, where he played a key role in building BMO’s real estate investment and corporate banking businesses. Mr. Steele’s transaction experience exceeds $30 billion in value across a wide variety of public equity, debt and M&A transactions.
He holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration degrees from McGill University in Montreal, is a CFA® charterholder and is FINRA Series 7, 63 and 24 licensed. He is based in Capital One’s New York City offices.
Joshua R. Howes, CFA
Senior Vice President
Head of Fund Financing
As manager of the Fund Finance Group, Josh leads Capital One’s national coverage of real estate private equity clients. This team provides tailored banking solutions to private equity funds including subscription secured financing, unsecured and secured lines of credit, asset level financing, derivatives and treasury management. Prior to joining Capital One, Josh held relationship management and underwriting positions at Wachovia Bank and FleetBoston Financial. He is a graduate of Bates College, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Economics. Josh is also a CFA® charterholder.
