Introducing Capital One Dining

Offering unique culinary experiences and exclusive access to sought-after reservations at a curated collection of restaurants

Food connoisseurs, rejoice! Capital One is introducing Capital One Dining, a new reservation booking platform for Capital One cardholders that will unlock unforgettable culinary experiences and exclusive access to sought-after reservations at a curated collection of top restaurants.

Making it Happen

The introduction of Capital One Dining is one way we’re answering our cardholders’ desires — providing great rewards on things they’re passionate about, and helping them create special memories with loved ones, whether they’re in their hometowns or exploring a new city.

“At Capital One, we know our customers are passionate about dining out with family and friends, whether it’s a twelve-course dinner at an award-winning restaurant or brunch at a hidden gem,” says Monica Weaver, Head of Branded Card Partnerships and Experiences at Capital One. “That’s why we’re excited to announce Capital One Dining, which offers our rewards cardholders access to a curated collection of restaurants that has been built with the help of some of the most trusted names in dining, including the legendary Chef José Andrés, the Michelin Guide, and the James Beard Foundation.”

To make Capital One Dining happen, we exclusively teamed up with legendary Chef José Andrés, along with other industry titans including the MICHELIN Guide and the James Beard Foundation, to curate the program which will feature reservations at more than 350 restaurants across 11 U.S. cities.

Chef Andrés is a chef, humanitarian and bestselling author. His ThinkFoodGroup comprises 30 acclaimed restaurants that span cuisines and cultures, price points and service styles. His nonprofit World Central Kitchen uses food as a powerful agent of positive change. He recently launched José Andrés Media to produce an unscripted television series, books, podcasts, and digital short and mid-form content with a focus on food-related stories, in addition to pursuing global strategic brand partnerships. A naturalized U.S. citizen originally from Spain, Chef Andrés has earned four Michelin stars and was named “Humanitarian of the Year” by the James Beard Foundation in 2018 for his work providing food relief around the globe.

The James Beard Foundation has celebrated, supported, and elevated the people behind America’s food culture for more than 30 years, and continues to champion a standard of good food anchored in talent, equity, and sustainability.

Last year, we partnered with the James Beard Foundation to launch the James Beard House Fellows Program — an avenue for training and professional development for talented, emerging chefs. Each Fellow embarked on a one-month residency at the James Beard House, receiving training in financial and legal matters, public relations, policy and advocacy, and social media.

And perhaps with the longest legacy, the MICHELIN Guide rates over 30,000 establishments in more than 30 territories across three continents in hopes of making unforgettable experiences available to all. Capital One recently partnered with the MICHELIN Guide to host a destination-themed dinner series in cities across the country for our cardholders.

Needless to say, we’re in great company on this journey.

Personalized Dining Preferences

“We continue to listen to our customers, and we're excited to continue bringing them access to unforgettable culinary experiences,” says Weaver. “This is just the beginning!”

It was customer feedback that inspired us to develop Capital One Dining.

Capital One Dining’s interface, powered by SevenRooms, a global restaurant technology platform, makes it easy for dining enthusiasts to discover restaurants, book a reservation and communicate dietary preferences back to the restaurant.

The first time cardholders use Capital One Dining, they are asked to confirm their contact information (including name, email and phone number) and preferred location to help them search for restaurants.

They can also toggle and search other cities, which is perfect for planning meals for an upcoming trip.

From there, cardholders can also personalize their profiles with information like dietary preferences, which are automatically passed along to restaurants once they make their reservation, and special dates like birthdays and anniversaries.

They can browse Capital One Dining’s selections by different accolades too, like MICHELIN Guide distinctions and James Beard recognition. There are also ways to navigate by restaurants with diverse leadership or those with sustainable practices.

And, cardholders can book hard-to-get restaurant reservations set aside at a curated collection of restaurants, including favorites like Virtue by Erick Williams in Chicago, Quince by Michael Tusk in San Francisco, Itamae in Miami, Cadence in New York City, and Chef Andrés’ minibar in Washington, D.C.

As part of the launch of Capital One Dining, cardholders will have access to reservations at Chef Andrés’ full portfolio of acclaimed ThinkFoodGroup restaurants, and the platform will be featuring “José’s Picks,” a collection of personally recommended restaurants handpicked by Chef Andrés.

“Restaurants are where the stories of our communities come to life, whether it’s a familiar plate of comfort food, a tasting menu pushing the boundary of creativity, or a cocktail or glass of wine that transports us to a faraway place,” says Andrés. “When I travel, I love to discover new restaurants and return to visit old favorites. That’s why I’m so proud to be partnering with Capital One to launch Capital One Dining that will showcase some of the most amazing restaurants around the country. I cannot wait to share my favorite places with everyone!”

Additional details will be shared later this year as we continue our partnership with Chef Andrés, but stay-tuned for exclusive cardholder opportunities and experiences.

Unforgettable Culinary Experiences

Because Capital One knows our customers value access to things they’re passionate about — dining, music and sports — we’re committed to offering them.

That’s why we will continue to offer cardholders exclusive access to tickets to some of the dining industry’s top experiences, including New York City Wine & Food Festival, the MICHELIN Guide Destination Dinner Series, Taste America by the James Beard Foundation, and South Beach Wine & Food Festival.

Capital One Dining is available to all Capital One branded rewards cardholders, including the recently launched Venture X. It will begin rolling out to customers in March.
