What are digital financial tools?

Digital financial tools are apps or features that bring added convenience and security to everyday money management tasks. They can encompass everything from mobile banking apps to digital payment services like PazeSM and Zelle® to virtual assistants that can help answer questions about your account.

Digital financial tools offer you more flexibility in how you manage your money since they can help you automate tasks like paying bills and transferring money between accounts. And, as an added bonus, most digital money management tasks can be completed outside regular business hours and without going to a physical bank branch, which can help you save time as well.

What are some examples of digital financial tools?

Capital One customers have access to a wide range of digital financial tools. These include:

Capital One Mobile app: Manage your accounts on the go, pay bills with a tap or set up automatic recurring payments.
Virtual cards: Keep your actual card number private when shopping online with virtual card numbers that are linked to your credit card account. Virtual cards can also help you check out online faster.
Digital wallets: Pay in stores and online even when you don’t have your physical card or cash on hand by linking your eligible Capital One cards to a digital wallet like Google Pay™, Apple Pay® or PayPal.
Paze: Paze is a convenient and easy way to check out online that’s offered by Capital One and other participating banks and credit unions. With Paze, you don’t need to enter your card numbers at checkout, and there’s no new apps to download.
CreditWise from Capital One: Keep an eye on your credit score with alerts to your credit report and free dark web monitoring.
Zelle®: Quickly send money to friends and family for free right from your bank account.
Auto Navigator: See if you prequalify for an auto loan without hurting your credit score.
Eno: Get quick answers to questions like “What’s my account balance?” or “When’s my next payment due date?” from Capital One’s virtual assistant.

Do I have to be a Capital One customer to use digital tools?

Both CreditWise from Capital One and Capital One Shopping are free tools available for everyone, even if you’re not a Capital One customer. Some digital tools, like the Capital One Mobile app and Eno, can only be accessed if you have a Capital One account.

How do I get started with digital financial tools?

If you’re ready to get started with Capital One’s digital tools, the first step is to set up your online account. Once your account is activated, you can download the Capital One Mobile app and log in using your online credentials to get access to a variety of digital tools.

Transactions between enrolled customers typically occur in minutes.

Some customers will not be eligible to access a virtual card. If you are eligible, you must verify your identity before accessing your virtual card. In some cases, you will not be able to access your virtual card until approximately 30 days after account opening, and you may not have access to your full credit line until your physical card is activated. Web access is needed to manage your virtual card number online or in the Mobile app. Virtual cards may not be accepted by all stores. Virtual cards are not available for debit cards and some credit cards.

Add Cash in Store

For each Add Cash in Store eligible account: add up to $999 per transaction, $1,500 a day and $5,000 a month. Add cash up to 10 times a month. Due to operational constraints, some Add Cash in Store locations may only accept up to $190 per transaction. Click here to see affected zip codes.

The credit score provided in CreditWise is a FICO® Score 8 based on TransUnion data. The FICO Score 8 gives you a good sense of your credit health but it may not be the same score model used by your lender or creditor. The availability of the CreditWise tool and certain features in the tool depends on our ability to obtain your credit history from TransUnion and whether you have sufficient credit history to generate a FICO Score 8. Some monitoring and alerts may not be available to you if the information you enter at enrollment does not match the information in your credit file at (or you do not have a file at) one or more consumer reporting agencies. [You do not need to be a Capital One account holder to sign up for CreditWise.]

CreditWise Alerts are based on changes to your TransUnion and Experian® credit reports and information we find on the dark web.

Some or all Eno features may not be available to all Capital One customers, depending on the types of accounts held. For example, certain bank accounts are not eligible to text with Eno, and Eno email notifications, app notifications and virtual card numbers from Eno may not be available for certain credit cards.

Eno is learning all the time and may not catch everything. Eno service outages may occur. Capital One customers are responsible for regularly checking their account statements. Web access is needed to use mobile banking. Check with your service provider for details on specific fees and charges. Texting with Eno means you agree to chat about your account over SMS and receive recurring messages. Message and data rates may apply. Mobile phone carrier fees for text messages may apply.

With Card Lock, some activity may continue, including returns, credits, payments, interest, dispute adjustments, other account fees, purchase transactions during system downtime and certain other exempted transactions. Review your statements to ensure that all transactions are authorized.

The EMVCo Contactless Indicator mark, consisting of four graduating arcs, is a trademark owned by and used with permission of EMVCo, LLC.

If you redeem your rewards for an account credit, it will usually be applied to your account in 2 to 3 business days, but may take up to 60 days. Account credits lower the account balance but do not count toward your minimum monthly payment. Your minimum monthly payment will still be required.

Digital gift cards are typically delivered via email you provide immediately after placing an order. In some cases, it may take up to 1-2 days.
