Once upon a time, if you wanted to know your credit card balance, you may have had to wait until your statement arrived in the mail. That’s certainly still an option, but digital tools have now made it possible to check your balance on demand, especially if you’re a Capital One cardholder.

As a Capital One cardholder, one of the most convenient ways to check your Capital One credit card or debit card balance is through the Capital One Mobile app.

The app is free to use and available for all Capital One cardholders. Besides providing a real-time look at your account balance, the mobile app provides a number of helpful account management tools, including CreditWise from Capital One.

Before you can use the Capital One Mobile app, make sure you download it to your device and set up online access. If you’ve already done that, you’re ready to go.

1. Sign in using the same information you use for your Capital One online account.

2. Once you sign in, you should see the current balances of your Capital One credit cards, bank accounts, rewards and more.

3. You can also click into your account to see more details about your card, including your available credit, credit limit, minimum payment, payment due date and interest rate.

If you use the Capital One Mobile app with an iOS device, such as an iPhone or iPad, you can download a widget to view your credit card balance right on your device’s home screen. You also have the option to download multiple widgets to view the balances of all your Capital One banking or credit accounts at once without signing in to the mobile app.

To view your credit card balance online, sign in to your account and select your card to see your balance. Just like on the mobile app, you can also click into your account to view your credit card statement and other account information.

Like the mobile app, if it’s your first time you may have to set up online access.

Your account summary contains useful information about payment due dates, balances and payment amounts. Your statement may also include warnings about potential late payments and other notifications.

You can also check your credit card balance by texting Eno. After you go online to set up text alerts, you can text “bal” or “account balance” to 227898.
