Your Guide to Getting Cash Back by Shopping With Jewel
Find out how Jewel, an e-commerce platform brought to you by Capital One, can reward you for your premium purchases
If you’re one of the many people looking closer to home for comfort and enjoyment these days, Jewel might be able to help. Brought to you by Capital One, Jewel is a free and simple platform that gives you up to 10% actual money back—not just store credit—on your premium and luxury purchases. So whether you’re freshening up your living space, refining your tech setup, replacing your cooking utensils or updating your look, you’re getting rewarded for shopping.
What’s really useful about Jewel is that you shop by brand. So if there are labels you love, trust and buy over and over, you can instantly see how much cash back Jewel can help you earn. And it’s not just a one-time deal. Every time you shop brands using Jewel, you earn cash back.
How Does Jewel Work?
So how is Jewel able to keep rewarding you for the things you buy? Participating retailers pay Jewel a commission every time you buy something of theirs through Jewel. And then most of that’s passed back to you.
Jewel partners with hundreds of the biggest names in men’s, women’s and children’s fashion and accessories; beauty and wellness; athletic gear and sneakers; dining; and home decor. These include Anthropologie, Apple, Bloomingdale's, Clinique, Everlane, Le Creuset, Luisaviaroma, Nike, Sonos, Tory Burch and Wine.com, to name a few.
To earn cash back on your premium purchases, all you have to do is make sure you’re using Jewel to shop. To do that, you can
- Shop through the Jewel website. Choose a brand and click “Get Started.” That will take you to the retailer’s website. Then you just shop online as usual.
- Download the Jewel Chrome extension. This lets you bypass the Jewel website. Instead, whenever you’re browsing participating retailers online, the extension will pop up to let you know whether cash-back shopping is available.
To see how much you’re earning, you can check your account on the Jewel website. Anything you buy can take up to 72 hours to show up, so don’t worry if you don’t see it right away. Cash-back rates vary among retailers. You can check brands and rates on the Jewel site.
How Do I Get My Rewards?
Jewel processes and issues reward payments every two months, in February, April, June, August, October and December. You’ll get your money back through your preferred method: PayPal, check or digital gift card.
Any rewards you earn will stay in your Jewel account until you reach at least $15. Then, on the next payment processing date, you’ll receive your total amount of cash back plus any earned bonuses.
You can also earn bonus rewards by referring friends—$5 for every friend who signs up through you and earns their first $15.
How Do I Sign Up for Jewel?
It’s super simple to sign up for Jewel, and it’s available to everyone—not just Capital One customers. It’s also secure because you won’t be asked for any personal information when you sign up.
To sign up:
- Click “Get Started” on the Jewel homepage.
- Add your name, email and a password.
- Select whether you want to download the Jewel Chrome extension or just shop from the Jewel site.
Once you’ve signed up, you can start shopping and earning your rewards. And don’t worry if you decline the Jewel Chrome extension when you sign up. You can always add it later.
It’s worth noting that the Chrome extension isn’t compatible with every retailer website. So if you can’t shop a retailer through the extension, simply shop through the Jewel site instead. Just remember, you’ll need to use one or the other to get cash back.
A new fragrance can make you feel like a different person. And a new mattress can give you a more comfortable night’s sleep. So why not be rewarded for making those purchases too? With Jewel, you can earn cash back on each one of your purchases from hundreds of top brands.
