Virtual cards on Chrome and Android apps

Google Pay is Google’s payment service—it’s what allows you to pay online or in stores with tap to pay using the payment methods you keep in your Google Wallet.

Virtual cards are currently available at online checkout on Chrome version 97+ for desktop computers (Mac, Windows and Linux), Chrome for Android and via merchant apps running in the Android OS and Chrome for iOS.

Enrollment for virtual cards in Google Wallet to use online with Google Pay is currently available for most Capital One credit cards. Debit cards and some credit cards may be ineligible at this time.

Yes, when you use virtual cards through Google Pay, you will still receive the same benefits and rewards from Capital One as you normally would. That’s because your virtual cards are linked to your Capital One credit card account and the transactions are still occurring on your Capital One card.

You can lock, unlock or delete the virtual cards that you’ve created at any time by logging into your Capital One account online or in the Capital One Mobile app, then navigating to the Virtual Card Manager. You can also turn your virtual card on and off through your Google Wallet.

Because virtual card numbers are connected to your credit card account, purchases you make with them online will appear as normal credit card transactions on your statement.

If you need a refund for something you purchased online with a virtual card, the refund will go directly to the credit card your virtual card is associated with. You may be asked to confirm the last four digits of the card number used for purchase when you’re returning an item. If so, you can view the last four digits of the virtual card number in the Capital One Mobile app’s Virtual Card Manager.

If there’s an issue with a charge made using a virtual card, you can follow the same processes for filing a fraud claim or disputing an authorized charge as you would with your physical credit card.
