Once you have added your external account information, you can follow these steps to verify it for transfers:

  1. Within two business days after linking your account online, Capital One will make two small test deposits (each less than $1.00) into your external account, followed by one withdrawal for the total amount of the two test deposits.
  2. Review the activity on your external checking account, and identify the small test deposits.
  3. Once you know the amounts, sign in to capitalone.com, and select the Capital One bank account you're linking your external account to.

For Capital One 360 accounts, select your customer profile at the top right of the screen, then select Settings, and scroll down to the External Account section. In the External Account section, select Verify Account to confirm your link.

For all other accounts, select the Account Services and Settings link under your balance information, and then Manage External Accounts to confirm your link.

Please Note: If this is a joint external account with the same joint account holder, you must both sign in to capitalone.com with your individual sign in information and complete the steps above.

Once you confirm the link, you'll be able to transfer money between accounts.

Once you verify your external account, any money you scheduled to be deposited to a recently opened Capital One account will be transferred.
