Yes. The CreditWise app is free to download and all tools and features are free to use to help you achieve your financial goals.

CreditWise lets you check your VantageScore 3.0 credit score from TransUnion, which is one of many credit scoring models. Your CreditWise score is a good measure of your overall credit health, but it is not likely to be the same score used by creditors.

Along with letting you access your credit score, CreditWise also allows you to:

• Monitor your credit with dark web monitoring and dual-bureau insights that alert you when there’s an important change to your credit profile
• Simulate the potential impact your financial choices may have on your credit score—before you make them
• Receive personalized tips to improve your credit based on the information in your credit report

Please note that some monitoring and alerts may not be available to you if the information you enter at enrollment does not match the information in your credit file at (or you do not have a file at) one or more consumer reporting agencies.

No, you can download the CreditWise app and use its features even if you aren’t a Capital One customer. Just create an account and enjoy all of the features that CreditWise has to offer. Please note, however, that you'll need to be a U.S. resident over 18 with a valid social security number that can be matched to a credit profile from TransUnion in order to enroll.

Using the CreditWise tool does not harm your credit score because CreditWise does not perform a hard credit inquiry to retrieve your information.
