Car Overview

Honda Civic Si

In the early 1970s, Honda introduced the Civic to provide affordable, efficient, and reliable transportation, which laid the foundation for Honda’s success. A sportier Civic arrived in 1986 when Honda rolled out the first Civic Si as a two-door hatchback producing more horsepower with a five-speed manual transmission. Since then, Honda applied “Si” badges to Civic coupes, hatches, and sedans, depending on model year. The first Civic Si sedan went on sale in 2007 as part of the eighth-generation Civic lineup. It sold side-by-side with a Civic Si coupe but Honda dropped the coupe body style with the 11th-generation redesign in 2022, leaving only the Civic Si sedan. All Si models have a more powerful engine, a manual transmission, a sport-tuned suspension, and stickier tires.
