Car Overview
The Ford E-Series, initially known as the Ford Econoline, was a lineup of full-size passenger and cargo vans sold from 1961 to 2014. Available for sale to both consumers and businesses, the E-Series was the best-selling van in the United States for 35 years before the all-new 2015 Ford Transit replaced it. However, the E-Series platform remains in production, and Ford offers it as either a cutaway van or a stripped chassis. These customizable models are now primarily for commercial use. In continuous production for the last 60 years, the Ford E-Series (and Econoline before it) still receives regular updates, adding a new engine option in 2017 and a redesigned instrument panel plus more standard features in 2021.
