Dodge Grand Caravan
Initially, the Dodge Grand Caravan was an extended-length version of the Caravan minivan, offering more interior room for passengers and cargo. Ultimately, this packaging recipe proved more popular, and with the arrival of the fifth and final generation of Dodge's minivan in 2008, it was the sole offering. The 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan had to fend off successful rivals while convincing families a minivan was still better than an SUV. Unfortunately, the fifth-generation Grand Caravan's engineering took place during an era of strict cost-cutting, which showed in the final product. A refreshed 2011 Grand Caravan resolved many complaints from critics and customers. Still, the migration to crossover SUVs and alternatives from Honda and Toyota was too far gone for Dodge to stem the tide. Nevertheless, the Grand Caravan persisted through the 2020 model year, a favorite of rental fleets in family vacation destinations around the U.S.
