Hyundai redesigned the 2020 Sonata, giving it a fresh face and new technology, including a digital-key capability that lets you unlock and start the car with your smartphone. Buyers can choose from SE, SEL, SEL Plus, and Limited trim levels. The SE and SEL have a four-cylinder making 191 horsepower under the hood, and the top two trims have a turbocharged engine producing 180 horses. The Sonata's EPA-estimated gas mileage ranges from 28/38/32 mpg in city/highway/combined driving to 27/36/31 mpg. A more fuel-efficient hybrid version is available, but we discuss it separately. This midsize sedan seats five people and provides 16 cubic-feet of cargo space.Â
