What’s New for the 2022 Hyundai Palisade?

For 2022, Hyundai makes few changes to the Palisade lineup. The base SE trim adds several new standard features, including turn signal indicators on the side mirrors, an active blind-spot monitoring system, and an active rear cross-traffic alert system. Safe Exit Assist is also standard, a feature that warns the driver and passengers if it is unsafe to exit the vehicle because a car or cyclist is approaching from the rear.

Hyundai reports that the only other change is the discontinuation of the Dark Brown interior for the Palisade Calligraphy.

2022 Hyundai Palisade Price and Configurations

At the start of the model year, 2022 Hyundai Palisade prices ranged from the mid $30,000s to around $50,000, including the destination charge. Four trim levels are available, equipped with the highlighted features listed below.

Hyundai Palisade SE — Standard equipment for the Palisade SE includes 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights with automatic high-beam operation, heated side mirrors, remote keyless entry with a panic button, and rear parking sensors. Interiors feature cloth seats with a height-adjustable driver’s seat, a power-folding second-row bench seat, air conditioning with second-row controls, and a stereo speaker Quiet Mode for the rear seating areas. In addition, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system is standard and includes wireless smartphone integration support for Apple and Android devices.

Changes for 2022 mean the Palisade SE is safer than ever. The lengthy list includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and lane-centering assistance. For 2022, Hyundai adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and a safe exit assist system to the menu. Additionally, the Palisade SE features a driver monitoring system and a rear-seat reminder system.

Hyundai Palisade SEL — Upgrades for the Palisade SEL include improved exterior and interior trim, a hands-free keyless entry system with push-button engine starting, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The driver’s seat gains 8-way adjustment, and both front seats have heating for winter comfort. The SEL trim also adds second-row captain’s chairs and a triple-zone automatic climate control system with an interior air ionization system.

Hyundai Palisade Limited — Hyundai outfits the Palisade Limited with opulence. Exterior changes are modest, including 20-inch alloy wheels, simulated skid plating, front parking sensors, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a hands-free power rear liftgate. It’s the interior that looks and feels far more upscale.

In addition to taking added steps to quiet the interior, Hyundai adds ambient interior lighting, a dashboard wrapped in simulated leather, and premium leather upholstery. Comfort upgrades include a heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats with power leg support adjustment, and heated and ventilated rear seats. Occupants sit beneath a dual-panel glass sunroof, and Limited trim also features rear side-window sunshades and a power-folding third-row seat.

Tech upgrades include a 12.3-inch digital instrumentation panel, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, multiple-device Bluetooth support, wired smartphone integration for Apple and Android devices, satellite radio, connected services access, and wireless smartphone charging. A Driver Talk in-vehicle communication system is also standard, along with additional USB ports and a premium sound system with 12 speakers.

Additional technologies include a surround-view monitoring system, a head-up display, camera-based blind-spot monitoring, and an ultrasonic version of the rear-seat reminder system that can detect movement in the vehicle for up to 24 hours and send owners a text message alert. Highway Driving Assist is also standard, combining adaptive cruise control and lane-centering assistance to create a hands-on, Level 2 semi-autonomous driving aid.

Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy — Calligraphy trim is outfitted like the Limited but is fancier. It gets unique 20-inch alloys, an exclusive grille design and body trim, and exterior welcome and premium accent lighting. Inside, the Palisade Calligraphy features perforated leather on the steering wheel, quilted leather seating, and a simulated suede headliner.

My first word was “car.” That’s what I’m told, anyway. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been obsessed with them. The design. The engineering. The performance. And the purpose. I’m a car enthusiast who loves to drive, but I’m also most interested in the cars, trucks, and SUVs that people actually buy. Anybody can tell you that a sports car is fast. What you need to know is whether or not you should buy that new SUV, and why. My life purpose is to help you make that decision.
