Car Overview
Mercedes-Benz CLS
Mercedes-Benz kicked off the four-door coupe movement in 2004 when it released the CLS. Was it a coupe or a sedan? Technically, the CLS is a sedan based on the E-Class platform. However, artfully sinuous styling and a beautifully outfitted interior that provides comfort to the driver and the front-seat passenger make a convincing argument for admission to the coupe club. That first Mercedes-Benz CLS was among the best-looking luxury cars of its day, establishing a design and engineering template that guided the development of the second- and third-generation CLS models. Of course, the wizards at AMG have massaged several versions of the CLS for added performance, and the car offers available all-wheel drive.
