Car Overview
Hyundai Elantra GT
The Elantra GT hatchback joined the Hyundai family in 2013. Replacing the Elantra Touring wagon, it was positioned as a fun-to-drive, functional, five-door compact hatchback. The Elantra GT featured a sport-tuned suspension, a peppy four-cylinder engine, and a choice between a manual and an automatic transmission. The fun five-seater also offered more interior volume than some rivals, supplying up to 51 cubic feet of cargo space with the back seat folded down. A 2018 redesign gave the Elantra GT a more upscale appearance, a tech upgrade, and an available turbocharged engine. Although praised for its practicality, performance, and price, consumers preferred crossovers. So Hyundai dropped the Elantra GT from its U.S. lineup after the 2020 model year.
