Honda was the first to sell a hybrid car in the U.S. The 2000 Honda Insight was a teardrop-shaped two-seater rated to get 61 mpg on the highway. A decade later, a more practical second-generation Insight hatchback offered five-passenger seating and more cargo space. Finally, the third-generation Insight sedan arrived for 2019, a restyled hybrid version of the popular Honda Civic. But more importantly, this model helped lay the groundwork for an electrified future.
