Car Overview
Honda Clarity Plug-In Hybrid
One of the most forward-thinking cars in recent history, the Honda Clarity was on sale from 2017 to 2021. A midsize, five-passenger sedan, the Clarity offered  plug-in hybrid (PHEV), battery electric (BEV), and hydrogen fuel cell (FCEV) propulsion systems. The Clarity Electric’s limited driving range of 89 miles on a full charge made the Clarity Plug-In Hybrid more appealing — it could travel 47 miles in electric mode or a total of 340 miles with the gasoline engine. The FCEV converted hydrogen fuel into electricity, emitting water vapor as exhaust and traveling 366 miles between stops at the hydrogen station. Honda quietly discontinued the EV in 2020, and the FCEV and PHEV in 2021.
