Smaller than a full-size Ford Transit, the Ford Transit Connect is made primarily for commercial use as a cargo van or a passenger van. However, some consumers like its price and traditional approach to a small van, choosing it over established minivan models. The Transit Connect is available in short- and long-wheelbase styles with a choice between three trim levels. Passenger models offer seating for up to seven people, while the Cargo version supplies as much as 127.4 cu. ft. of cargo space. The maximum payload measures 1,550 lbs. Two four-cylinder engines are available, each driving the van’s front wheels through an automatic transmission.
