Car Overview
Dodge Dart
When Dodge decided to build a new compact car for the 2013 model year, it dusted off the Dart name, last used in the mid-1970s. Apparently, the automaker figured the young buyers who might purchase a new Dodge Dart sedan wouldn’t recall anything at all about the disco-era car that previously wore the name. The 2013 Dodge Dart was manufactured in America but used a Fiat-developed platform. Three engines were available, including a turbocharged powerplant offering up to 41 mpg on the highway in the Dart Aero and Dart Turbo models. There were several special edition versions of the Dart, and some even had a hood scoop that promised more performance than the car could deliver. However, with buyers abandoning cars in favor of SUVs, Dodge once again shelved the Dart nameplate after the 2016 model year.
