The BMW M6 is a high-performance version of the automaker’s 6 Series model. Since 2000, BMW has offered both a second-generation and a third-generation M6 in multiple body styles. Second-generation M6 coupes and convertibles came with a V10 engine and a 6-speed manual transmission or an automated Sequential Manual Gearbox (SMG). BMW built fewer than 15,000 of them, and just 701 examples had a clutch pedal. The third-generation M6 came in two-door coupe, four-door Gran Coupe, and two-door convertible body styles, all featuring a twin-turbocharged V8. A 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission powered the M6’s rear wheels. BMW replaced the M6 with the M8 for the 2020 model year.
