In 2007, Toyota introduced Americans to the Yaris, a small car that was the automaker’s entry-level vehicle. Before it arrived in the U.S., the Yaris was Toyota’s top-selling model in Europe. The first Yaris was available in two-door hatchback or four-door sedan body styles. A redesigned hatchback arrived in 2012, and Toyota discontinued the first-generation Yaris sedan shortly after. In 2015, the Yaris got updates that added new tech and updated the styling. In 2017, the Yaris lineup added another sedan. For two years, it was called the Yaris iA before dropping the “iA” part in 2019. In 2020, a hatchback was briefly available again. Toyota then discontinued the Yaris after the 2020 model year.
