Mitsubishi’s compact crossover SUV is called the Outlander. The first Outlander went on sale in America in 2001, and it’s bigger than the Outlander Sport that shares its name plate if not its engineering. The fourth-generation Outlander arrived for 2022, and is based on the Nissan Rogue because the automaker is part of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance. However, compared to the Rogue, the Outlander has an exclusive design and dynamic tuning. It is one of only two models in its segment to offer a third-row seat. Mitsubishi also offers a plug-in hybrid version of the Outlander.
