The Mitsubishi Galant is a midsize sedan that was sold new in the U.S. from 1990 to 2012. In its first few production years, the Galant made a name for itself with a turbocharged engine, all-wheel drive, and four-wheel steering, among other features that appealed to drivers in the early 1990s. However, by the end of its run, the Galant was less distinguishable from other family cars in its segment. The fourth-generation Galant arrived for the 2004 model year, larger than ever and equipped with new styling and plenty of room for people and cargo. By 2010, Mitsubishi had simplified the Galant lineup to two trim levels featuring a four-cylinder engine and four-speed automatic transmission. There was no fifth generation, however; Mitsubishi dropped the car from its lineup after the 2012 model year.
