GMC redesigned the 2021 Yukon, improving the full-size SUV in nearly every way. Four trim levels are available: SLE, SLT, off-road-oriented AT4, and premium Denali. The standard engine is a 5.3-liter V8 producing 355 horsepower. A 6.2-liter V8 with 420 horsepower and a turbo-diesel with a robust 460 pound-feet of torque are available. Rear-wheel drive is standard and four-wheel drive is optional. The EPA-estimated gas mileage ranges from 23 mpg in combined city and highway driving to 16 mpg depending on powertrain. The 2021 GMC Yukon tows up to 8,400 pounds, seats up to nine people, and provides 122.9 cubic-feet of maximum cargo room. An extended-wheelbase version, the Yukon XL, is discussed separately.
