Nissan revised the Altima's lineup for the 2017 model year, discontinuing the base 2.5 and 3.5 SR trims. Also, the automaker added automatic emergency braking and forward-collision warning as standard equipment. Buyers can choose from 2.5 S, 2.5 SR, 2.5 SV, 2.5 SL, and 3.5 SL trim levels. The Altima 2.5 has a four-cylinder engine making 179 horsepower while the 3.5 SL comes with a 270-hp V6 engine. Depending on the powertrain, the Altima returns between 26 mpg in combined city and highway driving and 31 mpg. All models seat five people and provide 15.4 cubic-feet of cargo room.Â
