In the early 1980s, Chrysler introduced the Dodge Caravan and Plymouth Voyager, two successful minivan models that created a new vehicle segment in the U.S. market. The Plymouth brand disappeared after the 2000 model year, and with it sailed the Voyager nameplate. However, two decades later Chrysler dusted it off and glued it to a new, low-priced version of the Chrysler Pacifica minivan. Consumers could buy the Chrysler Voyager in L and LX trim, while fleet customers such as rental-car agencies could get a Voyager LXi with artificial leather and additional features. Chrysler returned the Voyager to its lineup for the 2021 model year, adding updated safety equipment. Unfortunately for bargain-priced minivan shoppers, the 2022 Chrysler Voyager was available only to fleet customers, who enjoyed the next-generation infotainment system. Chrysler dropped the Voyager from its lineup after the 2022 model year.
