Leading with invention: Capital One’s AI patents and customer-first technologies
Our scientific advances reached a new beachhead when we recently exceeded 5,000 granted U.S. patents invented by our talented and passionate associates, which has secured Capital One a foothold at the top of the financial services industry in total U.S. portfolio size.
Capital One was also recently recognized as the only financial institution among the top U.S. patent leaders in agentic and generative AI, alongside the likes of Google, NVIDIA, DeepMind, IBM, Microsoft, Intel, Adobe and Samsung.

Cashier’s Check Kiosk: an industry-first solution that issues same-day, on-demand cashier’s checks at locations convenient to our customers using just their mobile phone and a QR code, without having to wait in line or get banker assistance.

Auto Navigator: our digital car shopping tool that allows customers to search for vehicles and pre-qualify for financing without ever leaving their home and with no impact to their credit score.

Pre-approval tool: leverages our infrastructure, tech stack and real-time data to help card applicants pre-qualify for products, which has helped save millions of customers from a hard credit inquiry.
