The base 2022 Honda Civic comes with a standard 158-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine or an optional 180-hp turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine. Both engines are paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), with a six-speed manual option for the Hatchback and paddle-shifters in the mid-level Sport and top Touring trims. The Civic sedan costs around $30,000 in its top trim, with the Hatchback model coming in around $31,000.
The 2022 Honda Accord costs around $28,000 with its base 192-hp turbocharged 1.5 four-cylinder and CVT. On the Sport and Touring trims, a 252-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. A 212-hp hybrid powertrain with a CVT is also available. The hybrid commands a roughly $1,000 premium in most trims, but range-topping Hybrid Touring trim is around $900 cheaper than the top-of-the-line, non-hybrid Touring model, which costs around $39,000.
