I’m extremely disappointed with my experience at Ciocca Chevrolet. I called ahead about a specific part and was told it had been pulled from inventory and set aside for me. Based on that assurance, I drove 40 minutes to the dealership, only to be told 20 minutes after I arrived that the part was not available at this dealership. This was a complete waste of my time and gas. If a part hasn’t actually been confirmed and physically set aside, customers shouldn’t be told that it has. A simple internal miscommunication turned into a major inconvenience for me. Better communication and organization within the parts department is clearly needed. I expected much more professionalism and reliability.

I brought my truck in for an electrical issue and was immediately told it was the alternator — even though I explained it had just recently been replaced. They insisted theirs would be better and pushed for replacement. I agreed, paid for the new alternator, and two weeks later the exact same issue returned. On my follow-up visit, the diagnosis completely changed. Now I was told the problem was my battery and that it was the wrong size for my truck — something that was never mentioned the first time. I later confirmed with three reputable dealers/mechanics that my battery is in fact the correct size and specification. After getting nowhere with the shifting explanations, I took matters into my own hands and did some research. I replaced and reconnected the negative battery terminal ground wire myself — something that was never suggested to me. Since doing that, I’ve gone nearly two months without a single issue. Being told it was the alternator, then the battery, along with incorrect claims about battery size, makes it hard to trust the diagnostics here. I spent significant money without receiving an accurate solution. I strongly recommend getting a second opinion before authorizing major repairs, or simply save yourself the headache and look elsewhere.

I have had 2 different experiences now that prompted this review. This location used to be owned by Apple, and my wife always used them without issue for servicing her vehicle. So, she saw no reason not to take her care there after Ciocca bought it for an oil change. A month later her vehicle is throwing warning lights about the engine, and we come to find out they NEVER PUT OIL BACK IN. We confirmed that it wasn't an oil consumption issue using a different shop. Fast forward a year, now im in the market to buy a new vehicle. Im looking at a 2021 Ford explorer platinum, looks great, good price, but at the end of the test drive I notice that the back facade piece isnt connected all the way just under the tail lights, and there is a good couple inches of water just sitting in the spare tire well. I still like the vehicle, so I just ask about negotiating cost because that water issue could cause some other unknown damage, and the manager tells our sales guy (refuses to come talk to us himself mind you) that he wont budget in price, it isnt a big deal, and this must not be the car for me. That was just downright rude. I will never take any of my or my family's business to any Ciocca owned dealership ever again. I went and bought a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport from the Thornton Automotive down the road instead, closed the deal within 2 hours of the Ciocca issue. Ciocca gives bad service and deals in bad faith.

UPDATED REVIEW: Unfortunately my positive experience on the day of purchase has been overshadowed by a $6000 transmission rebuild. Only three days after purchase the car nearly left me (with my toddler) stranded on the side of the highway. Because we purchased a used vehicle “as-is” the dealership has no responsibility to address the issue, but I cannot recommend making a purchase from them. It is clear that the company did not perform a thorough inspection of the vehicle or they chose to sell the car for profit without making critical repairs. Original Response: My experience at the Ciocca Chevrolet office was mostly positive. I came in on a Saturday morning hoping to buy a used vehicle with a trade in same day and they were very accommodating. Got everything taken care of at the dealership with my preferred bank for the financing, they gave me a great price for the trade in vehicle, and they weren’t overly pushy about warranty/insurance add ons. My only issue was with the listing. The listing on the website and the confirmation email I got upon inquiring made it sound like the vehicle was at the York location, however it was actually in Harrisburg. They brought it to us which was nice but we did want to see the vehicle before being driven/warmed up. The sales associate had zero knowledge about the specific vehicle history or the features on the style of vehicle but he was still nice to work with. Overall a good experience.

Fantastic! 100% recommend Nick to sell you a car! We test drove a jeep & loved it! Ciocca gave us a better trade in value than what was offered at previous dealer. Short, sweet & straight to the point! We were in and out! Thank you Nick Lightcap & team!
