“We came here to sell our 9 year old Chevy Volt with a check engine light showing. They offered a price that seemed reasonable to me considering the age of the car. The interior of this CarMax branch is clean and well lit. There are plenty of computer screens where you can look at the inventory of cars for sale. The Chevy Volt we want to sell them has a check engine light lit up. We told the algorithm about the check engine light, and the algorithm made an offer. But the actual sales person at this location gave us a lower offer. They wanted a printout from a Chevy dealer saying what's wrong with the car. They couldn't generate the report themselves. Fortunately, there's a Chevy dealer across the street, and they generated the report. So after all that, they stayed with the lower price based on what the report from the Chevy dealer said. We decided that the offer was reasonable, and we accepted it. After that, there was some more paperwork, and then they issued a check. This was a good experience.”
