I didn't end up buying from here, but my experience being helped by Angela and manager Rachel during the car search was so respectful that I wanted to leave a review. They knew my budget was strict with no wiggle room. They worked with me and what I was comfortable with, they weren't pushy even though they, of course, would have preferred to make a sale. When I said 'no,' they accepted the 'no' with grace and kept up communications within my budget and took my needs into consideration. They were ready to work with what I could offer. Angela also just knew a bunch about cars and was really polite and pleasant to chat with, Rachel was competent but humble, and both women were very respectful and, again, they were not pushy. We all know how it is at car dealerships and feeling pressured/ pushed/preyed upon by the sales team, right? This was not the case when I was being helped by these two; they were both ready to help me out with what I could afford and what I felt comfortable with considering/discussing. When I have a relative or friend of mine who needs a car, I'm genuinely ready to tell them it's worth the drive to Torrington to work with Angela and Rachel at Gengras Subaru.

I just purchased a used vehicle from Subaru and had an amazing experience. Angela was our Sales consultant. She listened to what we wanted and knew what we needed, being friendly and knowledgeable. She was also a help when I had questions after the purchase. I am very happy with our experience at Gengras Subaru in Torrington and was thankful to have Angela help us make this purchase !!

I live in Massachusetts but made the trek to Connecticut to buy a used car from this dealership not just based on the vehicle but the positive experience I've had with the dealership. The salesperson I initially worked with Kathryn D., really put their best foot forward. She was responsive, thoughtful, transparent, and refreshingly low-pressure. She negotiated a very fair price with her sales manager who, to their credit, were flexible and willing to meet in the middle in order to earn my business. It is reassuring to go into a dealership with a sense of trust which Kathryn definitely earned. I then worked with another exceptional salesperson, Angela Z. She was patient, affable, detail-oriented and extremely helpful both with paperwork and in explaining every detail of the car I purchased. When I arrived at the dealership, I realized that the staff here across the board are above and beyond. People seem genuinely happy to work here. Most telling, after the sale, I heard back from Angela to make sure I was pleased with the car (I am). They did a superb job preparing it, noted by the independent mechanic they brought it to for a pre-sales inspection on my behalf. After encounters with a number of stereotypically sleazy used car dealers here in Massachusetts, my experience with Gengras Subaru has been a real breath of fresh air--definitely worth the trip.

I do not have the words to describe the treatment I recieved here. Absolutely top shelf service. Starting with the Service Dept, top notch, Parts Dept top notch, and Sales Dept i couldn't ask for a better salesperson Amanda was AMAZING, PHENOMENAL..... I am so overjoyed with my purchase.......and looking forward to a long relationship with using the services of the Subaru family.....

Bought my Outback at Gengras and since then I’ve driven the absolute hell out of it. Canada. Florida. New England. 130,000 miles in 3 years. Loaded to the roof with ski gear, kayaks, Scout camp bins, you name it. It’s handled Tuckerman Ravine, Class V rivers, back roads, interstate hauls, and everything in between — without complaint. My kids have logged more nap hours in this backseat than in their beds. Any issue that came up? Handled. Loaner when I needed one. Oil changes are quick and painless — $69 with the coupon they always email, and you wait in a clean, comfortable lounge that doesn’t smell like tires. So yeah, if you’re wondering if the car is good — it is. If you’re wondering if Gengras sold me the right one — they did. And they’ve kept it running ever since.
