“ATTENTION MANAGEMENT: Jalen Chatman needs a promotion immediately! I am writing this review to highlight the one of the best experiences with a car salesman I have ever had, thanks entirely to Jalen Chatman. If you are looking for a vehicle, do not waste your time with anyone else—ask for Jalen immediately. In an industry where sales can often feel transactional and cold, Jalen is a complete breath of fresh air. From the moment we started talking, he didn't just feel like a salesperson; he felt like family. He is genuine, patient, and incredibly helpful. He truly did his utmost to help me, going above and beyond in ways that most salespeople simply wouldn't bother with. He wasn't just trying to "close a deal"; he was trying to solve a problem and make sure I was happy. I want to be clear and direct to the General Manager and ownership of South Bay Hyundai: Jalen Chatman has the skills, the temperament, and the leadership quality to be a Sales Manager. You have a rare talent on your hands, and he sets the standard for what customer service should look like. On top of the incredible service from Jalen, the dealership itself offered some of the best prices in town. I did my research, and South Bay Hyundai is extremely competitive. It is rare to find this combination of rock-bottom pricing and high-end service. Now, I want to be completely honest to keep this review balanced. There were a few hiccups along the purchase process—things didn't go perfectly smooth from start to finish on the administrative side. However, this is exactly where Jalen shone the brightest. Instead of letting those hiccups become headaches for me, he navigated them with grace and professionalism. He smoothed everything out and ensured that despite the bumps, I walked away feeling great about the purchase. That is the mark of a true professional. To be clear: I am not getting paid for this review. I am writing this because credit is due where credit is due. Even with the minor issues we faced, this is still one of the best dealerships I have dealt with, and Jalen Chatman is, without a doubt, the single best salesperson I have ever worked with. “Not once did this dealership pressure me into buying anything and were comfortable with me buying used. They did not force a new vehicle purchase on me or anything negative. I ended up purchasing a new vehicle and got very good discounts and I am highly satisfied with how I was treated. I would recommend anybody in the state of California to make the trip to this dealership and purchase a vehicle from this dealership. Big thanks to sales (Eduardo) and Richard the manager! The dealership’s management needs to take note that they have some great employees and the customer service is off the charts!”

“Had an amazing experience at south bay hyundai with my favorite salesperson Omar and his manager Phil - they were extremely professional, transparent, and clear about the process. I tried a few other hyundai dealerships in LA county and had very different experiences with last minute pricing changes, extra fees, etc but Omar and Phil were always true to what they offered and when I came to close the deal my new car was washed and cleaned, ready for me plus the paperwork was already mainly filled out so the actual process to sign was so smooth and quick. Now i have a better car than i initially thought to get at a better price than my last car. Highly recommend this center and specifically Omar & Phil!!”

“Surprised to see so many positive reviews, I give them two stars because I did like the car. I had a horrible experience at this dealership yesterday with her sales staff. I drove all the way up from San Diego to test drive two cars, I called ahead to let them know I was coming and the guy said he would have them pulled out and ready to go, when I arrived about an hour later both the cars were still buried in their lot, no one had bothered to bring them out. They brought out a sales guy named Jimmy Lee, it took him 10 minutes to get the first car out and we got on with the test drive. I told him I wanted to drive on the freeway, he said the freeway is too far, 4 mi away. I told him I drove all the way up from San Diego and I'm going to do the test drive to my satisfaction, to test the acceleration for on-ramps, lane departure, and adaptive cruise. He grudgingly agreed, gave directions and was pretty much silent the entire drive. I told him I wanted to go to a large parking lot to test the steering limits, he said sarcastically "to do donuts?". During the drive he did receive several calls on his phone, I guess from customers but I could tell he was very impatient with me and wanted to get it done. When we got back to the lot, he asked if I still wanted to test drive the other car. I said yeah, but I also said if you don't have the time, get me someone else to do it. So he had to go move the other cars that were blocking the second car and he did the second test drive with me, I finished and just walked off the lot, even though one of the cars I am interested in buying, and surprisingly or not too surprisingly, no one followed up on my visit to the dealership, not even a text message. Nobody likes to buy cars from dealerships and deal with sales people and managers but this one was probably the worst experience I've ever had at a place we all hate going anyways.”

“Jalen Chatman is the best salesman! We had a blast just hanging out with him doing business. He was super polite, professional, relaxed and confident. We knew we were in good hands. Jalen knew everything about the car but also told us alot of stuff we didnt know . We never felt pressured from first contact through my first phone call and texts to the time we walked out the door with our keys. His demeanor is so "chill" and we were never rushed or not taken seriously for one second. Also, the entire staff was very pleasant. Everyone was smiling from the front receptionist to the sales manager. Even the people that had nothing to do with our transaction gave us a smile, even though they didnt have to. The entire process took took less than an hour and a half! Bravo, South Bay Hyndai. Thank you. Especially, Jalen!! You were awesome.We'll be back.”
