“Great place to sell. We got the most for our vehicles and still had friendly service all around. They not only help you find the best vehicle for you, they won’t make you feel bad for going to another CarMax to make a purchase. We’ve also bought from this location before and it was the easiest, and friendliest location. Not much of a wait either. It’s also the bigger location in San Antonio. Kids area and clean restrooms.”

“I purchased a car here today and found the experience as wonderful as a big purchase can be. I've been to many dealers (bigs and locals) where salespersons jump the second I arrive and begin making me very uncomfortable. On Saturday, I showed up and was able to just browse a massive selection of affordable cars that I could see myself in. I didn't have the proper insurance to test drive, but an associate named Jose showed me options I had after pre-qualifying. After selecting one I wanted, he let me experience the functionality of the interior bells and whistles and then reserved it so I could drive it days later when I'd have a chance to fix the insurance issue. Today, he confirmed that I would be there and then awaited me to hand me the keys for a spin. (It handles amazingly.) I was never pressured into anything and Jose never tried to SELL me anything. I've completely hated the dealership experience until today. They typically pressure, ask uncomfortable questions, and show you things you aren't interested in because they don't listen. This was different and I really enjoyed the experience. I love this car, but when I'm done with it, I'll be back to this place for the next one. Thank you all!”

“Took my like-new BMW in to sell after receiving a very decent quote online. It has 17,400 miles on it. The car is in near perfect condition and only needs two front tires. I had just had it checked out at the dealership just to ensure I would get what I was quoted at CarMax. When I went in to CarMax to close the deal, they checked out my vehicle and the price quoted to me had dropped by 8900 because CarMax stated the sunroof needed to be repaired or replaced. I asked the sales manager, "For a sunroof?" The manager's response was that they are expensive to fix. Please note I do not have the 200 karat diamond sunroof that makes my coffee in the morning so imagine my confusion at the huge price drop. Fuming, I left CarMax and I called the dealership to inquire about the cost of full replacement of the sunroof. The service department at BMW stated the parts would be anywhere from 900 to 1200 and the labor is 200 per hour with a maximum of six hours. He said six hours is stretching it. Please do the math here. The 1200 plus maximum six hours of labor would come to 2400, not 8900. These scammers said I could fix it and bring it back within seven days and they would honor the original quote. I went outside and opened and closed the sunroof several times and found nothing wrong with it. At this point I lost all trust. I figured they had maybe tried to break it themselves or just lacked the intelligence to figure out how to operate a sunroof. Buttons can be confusing to press, you know. I couldn't run fast enough back to the dealer to sell it to them for a hefty loss, which was still much more than what ScamMax was trying to steal my car for. After what happened, even if ScamMax wanted to offer me 10k more than their original offer for my beautiful car, I would not and never will do business with CarMax again. You have been warned. Run. These people will waste a bunch of your time and insult your intelligence. I'm guessing that makes them feel smart.”

The employees were very helpful and friendly. I was able to stop in, get an estimate, sell the car, and get a complimentary ride home all within a couple hours.
