Ever ordered a cup of coffee at a Starbucks drive-through? It’s fast, efficient, and tasty—and sometimes the barista even surprises you with a little extra.
I had a very similar experience at CarMax. I loved their professionalism and efficiency. The car-selling process was incredibly easy and convenient. Yes, there was a small hiccup initially, but they took immediate action and remained truly customer-centric throughout.
I’m walking away with a fair price and one step closer to buying my dream car.”

“Great experience selling my car at CarMax. The process was incredibly easy and efficient — I was in and out in about 50–60 minutes total. Check-in and vehicle verification took around 20–25 minutes, then just a short time to review the offer, accept it, and receive the check. The staff was friendly and professional throughout. In my experience, it was well worth the time since the offer was better than a typical trade-in. I’d definitely recommend CarMax if you’re looking for a straightforward, no-hassle way to sell your car.”

“Dealing with the death of a love one is tough enough but before I decide to make a long drive to CarMax in Pleasanton I called to verify before bringing in my vehicle in that was already appraised by them that there would be no issues with selling my car to them with my wife on the title and loan, i was told on the phone everything was good and just needed the death certificate. When I showed up the same person I talked to on the phone told me that they couldn’t purchase the vehicle because of the loan. That’s why I called in first before making the long drive. Maybe hire people that are competent instead of kids who are barely out of school and have no clue what they’re doing.”

“Had an appointment with them for a test drive. Its my first time going into Carmax so I dont know what to expect. Tyler assisted and guided me from the test drive, to the terms, payments and warranties, up to driving it out of the lot. But it doesnt end there. I planned on getting an Uber to go back to the dealership after I drop my new car, to get my old one. What I didnt expect was they arranged a Lyft for me so I can go back. That was beyond impressive. I appreciate the gesture and I would definitely be coming back in the future. Kudos to the team!”

“This one star does not reflect the interactions I had with employees. Everyone we interacted with was great: professional and a pleasure to work with.
However CarMax operations apparently make it such that subpar vehicles can be sold with the guise of being high quality when they are not. My wife had a Subaru shipped from SoCal to this location for a test drive. No where on the reports “125 pt inspection” was there any mention of the issues we found during the test drive and inspection: the entire exhaust system was rusted out so bad that it would be impossible to unscrew bolts/nuts, found sea shells on the engine block, and so much undercarriage rust that it looks like this had been parked in the ocean for sometime.
And it’s not like CarMax didn’t inspect it, because between the photos online and when we saw it, someone had swapped out the Subaru branded engine cover with brand less one and it was beneath that where all the shells were.
BUYER BE VERY WARE.”
