“I just bought a 2024 Nissan and traded in a car over 10 years old. The experience itself wasn't bad until I saw the loan at my bank--when it was too late to do aything about it. We had been adamant about wanting a loan no bigger than $XX,XXX. We paid ALL other fees, taxes, etc. out of pocket. However, the extended warranty we were sold was rolled into the loan--this was NEVER explained to us--we were never informed of its price, just a monthly payment. Yes, we were told we'd pay for it WITH our monthly payment for the car. But I thought this warranty payment was somehow going directly to or forwarded to, the warranty company. I DID NOT WANT AN ADDITIONAL $5,000 ROLLED IN TO MY LOAN!! I am not at all comfortable with that amount, but there's nothing I can do about it now. We had been very clear about our bottom line loan amount and made several financial arrangements to get it down to that. Now, I will have to pay for that WITH INTEREST for the next 6 years. We don't buy cars often so maybe we were naive, but this feels deceptive to me and now WE have to pay for it. This has really taken away some of my joy in buying probably the last car I will ever buy.”
