โBuying a used car is brutal, and my experience with CarMax had a few bumps early on, particularly around detailing and inspection expectations. That said, what ultimately matters is how a company responds and sticks to their word, and in that regard, CarMax has been excellent.
The staff and management were professional, communicative, and flexible in working with me to find the right vehicle. While their no-haggle pricing is rigid, I actually appreciated the transparency and lack of dealership games. Most importantly, they truly stand behind their return and exchange policy, which allowed me to evaluate other vehicles without pressure.
Their 125-point inspection is not a substitute for an independent mechanicโs inspection, and buyers should still do their own due diligence. But when issues arise, CarMax has shown themselves to be reasonable, trustworthy, and honest.
After a few small hiccups, ultimately based on how nu purchase was handled, I would absolutely do business with CarMax again and plan to purchase another vehicle through them in the future.โ

โJack at CarMax Nashville Location , was the best car salesperson I have ever worked with. Friendly, efficient and professional. Absolutely no pressure!!! He explained everything and answered all our questions. The store was very busy but he gave us 100% of his energy and focus.

โBetter than perfect experience!!!! Relocated to TN, interested in selling vehicle. We completed on-line form, submitted all requested info in advance. Received our offer ASAP. Booked an appointment for the next business day. Upon walking in, we were immediately greeted. Staff was most friendly, professional and helpful. We were walked over to area handling purchases. A big shout out to the Team Members there! They had our file already ready to go. We were asked to please empty car, turn over keys and give paperwork. Within 15 minutes we were done, transaction fully completed. No hassle, delays or surprises. Thank you Carmax for this incredible experience!โ

โThe experience was pretty smooth. Toby was very helpful. There were a few miscommunications about shipping the car and the title being lost. I ended up loving the car I purchased (So far so good). However, it did have some non-mechanical parts missing. CarMax ordered them. It has been two weeks, and I am still waiting. I called CarMax, and they said it might be faster to go through the dealer, and they would reimburse me. That is nice, but I really donโt think I should have to do that. Overall, everyone has been friendly.โ

โGreat thing about CAR MAX, if you find a vehicle in another state and want to test drive it where you are, FOR A FEE, they will ship it to your location. This is what we did. They were super helpful and kept us very informed during the entire process. Once our chosen vehicle arrived at their facility, they performed their 12 point inspection and we were free to test drive. The financing dept was great to deal with and their facility was super clean. They have continued to keep in contact to make sure we are enjoying our purchase.โ
