“I contacted this dealership regarding a 2024 Mazda CX-50 and communicated with George in sales on 2/14/26. From the beginning, I was transparent that I was a serious buyer, provided a clear out-the-door offer inclusive of standard taxes and fees, and noted that I would be traveling from Long Beach, making timely and direct communication important.
George replied a day later. Despite presenting a specific offer and readiness to move forward, my pricing question was never directly addressed. The conversation instead shifted toward alternative vehicles and general positioning statements rather than confirming whether the offer could be considered or escalated.
Following this exchange, communication stopped on 2/15/26. Four days later (today 218/26), George reached out asking if I was still interested in the same vehicle I inquired about on 2/14. By this time, I already completed a purchase and taken delivery through another dealership that provided prompt responses, clear information, and complimentary vehicle delivery on 2/17.
After informing George of my purchase, the follow-up response included commentary attempting to downplay my vehicle choice by referencing trim level, mileage, and warranty coverage rather than simply closing the conversation professionally. For accuracy, the vehicle purchased was a higher trim level equipped with features such as a sunroof/moonroof, and the transaction represented strong market value. Commentary regarding warranty, trim, mileage was unnecessary and unrelated to the original inquiry.
Sales environments are competitive, but delayed communication, lack of direct answers to pricing inquiries, lack of professionalism and dismissive post-sale commentary reflect poorly on customer experience standards. Buyers who communicate clearly and are prepared to move forward should receive the same level of clarity, respect and professionalism in return.”
