“We were treated great from ordering a new vehicle right up to delivery. Our salesman Marcus was wonderful and made the experience very enjoyable. Very friendly place and understood what we wanted.”

“I can't say enough good things! From the first contact to the final goodbye, the car buying experience was amazing. Joe Mike sent me a video of the car I was interested in and since we traveled 87 miles to see it, it helped more than pictures. I was going to buy that car! Joe was friendly and easy to work with plus negotiated a great amount for my trade in. He got me all the eligible discounts and quoted the price before we even got there. I couldn't have asked for a better experience! It was worth the drive time - in a snow event!”

“Currently giving a one star review due to a recently purchase of a 2021 Jeep Cherokee from Mccandless. This vehicle was purchased through a loan for our daughter she needed a reliable vehicle for work. It's only been three months and I'm already having to deal with the engine light coming on. I have a service appointment again soon and this will be the second time taking it in. The first time they told me its the grille shutter assembly. If the light comes back on to let them know and sent me home. Well the engine light came back on so first I took it to auto zone to have it checked and its the same thing. The grille shutter assembly needs to be replaced. Didn't expect to have problems with this vehicle given the wonderful reputation this dealership supposedly has. I figured this place looks like a safe place to purchase a good working vehicle for our daughter. I'm hoping we dont run into any other issues in the near future. I wouldn't think a place like this would sell a eighteen thousand dollar vehicle and in three months already have issues.
B u y e r B e w a r e ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
My experience here has made our purchase feel uneasy and worried. Worried about what comes next. How much more with this cost us? They don't seem to care about the troubles of the added extra costs that will be put on you. When this vehicle gets fixed how much more money are we going to be out? How long will it take to fix? Most importantly how will she get to work while it is in service? All these questions with no answers.
After my next appointment with the service department I will post an update in a few weeks on how the rest of my experience goes. I just wanted to buy a safe reliable vehicle for our daughter. With all these awards this place has I would think they would treat their customers right. I guess I will find out next week how much more this vehicle is going to cost us.
Update: Thank goodness when we bought the jeep we purchased an extended warranty. The jeep was able to be repaired within the day but we did have to pay a deductible. So far no additional issues with this jeep. Customer service was ok I'm just relieved that my daughter's jeep got fixed. Cross fingers that we have no more issues. Will update again after 6 months.”

“Within hours of leaving the review below, Marcus called me and wanted to argue about what transpired. No apologies, no explanations, just 100% affirmation of my feelings leading to my review. Marcus is a real piece of work, and an absolute detriment to Bill McCandless Ford.
Original Review:
I was referred to Chester at Bill McCandless Ford by my upfitter and tried to buy a 2024 F600 that they've had on the lot for over a year. I spoke to Marcus several times, apparently he handles commercial sales, and Chester only handles government sales now, so I would have to work with him, and only him. He's an extremely poor communicator, doesn't do what he promises, doesn't call you back when he says he will, and when he did finally get back to me a week later, he couldn't remember our conversation or what I had asked for. The truck I was interested in had a $2000 rebate on it (information I gained from having another dealer look it up), but Marcus insisted they could only sell it at invoice, fully intending to keep the customer rebate for themselves. It wasn't until I pressed him on that rebate, that he agreed that it would come off of the purchase price, but he was unwilling to negotiate any further. Any dealer should be happy to move a 2 model year old vehicle that's been in inventory for a year and half, but Marcus pulled attitude and said he's not interested in working a deal with an out of state buyer (I buy new trucks for my business every year, have them upfitted in Erie, and shipped to MN). I finally gave up and ordered a 2026 with the same specs, from another dealer for less $ than they wanted for a 2 year old truck! This was an easy sale for them, and would have resulted in future truck sales had they taken care of their customer, but poor communication and greed got in the way! I'm not sure how this place sells anything, horrible experience!”

“The sales person was great. I went in with an open mind and was able to quickly narrow it down to 2. He sent me out for a test drive and I went home with my new ride the same day.
The paperwork was so slick and fast. The entire process from beginning to end was so smooth and easy. All my questions and concerns were answered. The attention to detail and to me, the customer, was truly spectacular. You just don’t find that old fashion caring and kindness in many businesses these days. I love my car and am thankful I went to McCandless Mercer.”
