“I’m a first-time car buyer (23 Y/O) and purchased a used 2025 Jetta S in Monterey blue with 7900 miles and a clean carfax from Ewald this weekend. I’d been looking for that spec for months and was happy to find one at Ewald, priced notably cheaper than alternatives at other dealerships across the country or on carmax/carvana. The process was largely seamless and pleasant — my salesperson, Leslie, was responsive, helpful, friendly and very easy to work with, sending multiple extra videos and photos to assist in my decision making. She even gave me recommendations on restaurants and beer in the Milwaukee area and arranged an airport pickup for me. All of this was quite helpful as I was working through the process out of state (I live in Tennessee), and only came in person once I decided to buy the car. I feel I got a good price on the vehicle — paid just over 50% down and financed the rest — and overall am very happy about my purchase. My only note (hence the four star rating) was that signs of use on the car I bought were not clearly shown on photos or videos, including the extra ones I asked for to check for imperfections, loud engines or smoke smell. I noticed a few small chips and scratches (nothing major since it is a used car, but would have been good to know) when I saw the car for the first time in person, but the biggest surprise was a sizable dent on the driver side door that was not obviously shown or noted to me in the videos I was sent, nor was easily visible in any materials posted online. I negotiated for Ewald to arrange a service to fix the dent once I got the car back home without any extra cost to me, but I was frustrated to not know about it or the other imperfections sooner. That aside, the process was smooth, the people were easy to work with and my first car buying experience was an overall good one. I’d absolutely recommend Ewald and Leslie, so long as you do the due diligence anyone should do when looking for a new (or used) car and double check for details, especially if buying out of state.”
