Buyer Beware – Please Inspect Vehicles Carefully I traded in my 2017 Audi Q3 Premium with only 41,000 miles because I was hoping to find something mechanically better and within my budget. Owning a Lexus had been my dream for many years. I was widowed at 32 with four children, so this was the first time in my life that I was financially able to try to buy the car I had always wanted. I found a 2019 Lexus UX 200 with 87,000 miles listed online for $21,999. The online photos made the car appear glossy and in excellent condition, with what looked like a “wet” finish. When I arrived at the dealership, the vehicle was very dusty. The salesperson, Max, opened all four doors and the trunk and allowed me to test drive it. Because of the dust and the way the vehicle had been presented online, I did not initially notice the full extent of the exterior damage. The only issue I noticed at the time was a moldy trim piece, which I believed could be cleaned. I completed the purchase and traded in my Audi. Within approximately 18 hours of signing the contract, I discovered multiple defects that were not clearly visible during the initial inspection, including: • Broken passenger-side mirror frame • Cracked plastic wheel arches • Severe fading of exterior paint from sun exposure • Moldy and deteriorated trim pieces These issues suggested significant exterior deterioration that had not been clearly disclosed before purchase. I immediately returned to the dealership and requested that the transaction be canceled or that the vehicle be exchanged due to the condition of the car. My request was initially denied, and the dealership offered only to repair the vehicle. After multiple emails and contacting customer service, the finance company, and the dealership’s general manager, Alex, the dealership eventually agreed to exchange the vehicle. I ultimately choose a different vehicle, a 2025 Mazda CX-5, although this process took several additional days because the replacement vehicle also required repairs before delivery. This entire experience was extremely stressful and resulted in several sleepless nights. I encourage anyone purchasing a used vehicle here to carefully inspect the exterior trim, mirrors, paint condition, and body panels in full daylight before signing any paperwork. Online photos may not accurately represent the true condition of a vehicle. If you experience similar issues, you may wish to document everything and contact consumer-protection agencies such as the Better Business Bureau or the California Department of Motor Vehicles.

Shout out to Ford of Downtown LA! You guys rock! I highly recommend them for a great purchase experience. I honestly am not a fan of going to a dealership to buy a car, but this was super enjoyable. I worked with them over a couple of days to get my new Ford Bronco Raptor and I am one happy customer! Big shout out to my sales rep Enrique Covarrubias for his honest and transparent negotiation and for keeping it real. Highly recommend!

If you’re looking for a stress-free, genuinely positive car-buying experience, Ford of Downtown LA is the place — and Josiah is the reason why. After a long and frustrating experience dealing with Toyota dealerships, this was a complete breath of fresh air. We came in looking for a Bronco, and we drove out in our Bronco the same day. From the moment we met Josiah, he was welcoming, friendly, and truly professional. We shared some of the issues we had experienced elsewhere, and instead of brushing them off, he listened, understood where we were coming from, and made the entire process smooth and comfortable. He was attentive without being pushy, transparent throughout, and easy to work with from start to finish. His manager was also great and worked with us to help make the deal happen, which really showed a strong team effort. No games, no pressure — just honest communication and great service. This was one of those rare experiences where you walk away thinking, “That’s how car buying should be.” Huge shoutout to Josiah for turning a stressful search into a genuinely positive experience.
