“I leased a brand new CLE53 AMG for my fiancé back in July. I am unbelievably disappointed and outraged with Mercedes-Benz. Less than one week after leasing this vehicle, it began experiencing an extremely dangerous and life-threatening defect: the vehicle shuts off completely while driving. The engine and all electronics abruptly power down without warning, including while traveling at highway speeds. This is not a minor inconvenience or quirk - it is a catastrophic safety failure that puts my fiancé's, my life and the lives of others at serious risk. As of today, the vehicle has been returned to the dealership for “service” five (5) separate times for this same issue. Each time, I am told the problem has been “fixed.” Each time, the issue continues to occur. At this point, it is abundantly clear that they have failed to properly diagnose or repair this vehicle. I have been unequivocally clear that I DO NOT want this car back. I have requested a replacement vehicle that is not defective, which is a reasonable and appropriate resolution given the severity and persistence of this issue. Mercedes-Benz has refused, claiming that because the dealership “cannot recreate the issue,” there is allegedly nothing wrong with the car. That position is both unacceptable and alarming. I have Live Photos clearly documenting the moment the vehicle shuts off and then powers back on. These were taken while driving meaning I was forced to risk my own safety to document a defect that Mercedes-Benz now claims does not exist!! To dismiss this evidence while simultaneously acknowledging five service visits for the same complaint is frankly insulting. What is particularly disturbing is that the dealership's apparent priority is recovering their loaner vehicle, not ensuring my safety. The loaner vehicle currently in my possession functions properly - it does not shut off randomly at highway speeds. Yet when I ask whether my CLE53 AMG is genuinely fixed, I am repeatedly strung along and told the same thing: “We can't recreate the problem, therefore the problem does not exist.” That logic is indefensible. At this stage, Mercedes-Benz's handling of this matter reflects a failure to act in good faith, a disregard for customer safety, and a troubling unwillingness to take responsibility for what is clearly a defective vehicle. I should not have to wait for a serious accident or worse for this issue to be taken seriously. I am prepared to and have already begun to pursue all available remedies, including escalation to Mercedes-Benz corporate leadership, regulatory agencies, and remedies available under applicable lemon law and consumer protection statutes. I expected far more from a brand that markets itself on engineering excellence and safety. Instead, I have been met with denial, deflection, and indifference. This experience has been deeply disappointing and has severely damaged my trust in Mercedes-Benz.”
